Root Need help Flashing Rom over a Rom

Ok ill try to make this simple and not draw out. I know how to flash a rom over stock 2.1, but after I done that I placed the R1 theme over v0.4. So does having that theme make it any different since I wanna flash raptor0.1? What I'm asking is what do I do now? I wanna flash raptor over v4 with the R1 theme....I used rom manager, and this may sound dumb but I don't think I have a nandroid backup unless its stored on my phone....I done one before I flashed v4 but that was my first time flashing roms so I haven't had to fool around with backups so I'm not sure about it, and after i done the backup i reformatted my card, so im not sure where the backup is or what to do with it before i flash raptor, if i even need to do anything with it...

If you formatted your SD card after making a backup, then your backup is gone. Unless you copied the contents of your SD card to your computer first.

As far as flashing Raptor over Velocity, flash it like you did Velocity. It doesn't matter if you have a custom ROM or stock, flashing is flashing, use the same procedure.

ok thank you very much that made it clear, so will i never be able to go back to stock 2.1 now since my backup is gone =o ???

Also, what are the correct steps i should take to create a backup and not lose it this time, can i do a backup then store a certain file (the backup made) on my pc or w/e? Because i had to format my sd last time in order to flash a rom thats why it was lost, and i took everything off my sd but it was just really pictures i dont rememeber seeing a backup file or i would have kept it...

Assuming that you are using Amon Ra recovery, when you boot into recovery you will see a menu that says Backup/Restore. Click on that and I think it's the first option that says Nand Backup or something like that. If you are using clockwork then I can't remember exactly what the options are but it is very similar. Whenever you need to format your sd card ALWAYS make a backup on your computer. You do this by simply mounting your sd card and making a folder on your desktop and dragging the contents of your sd card into that folder. I would suggest making a new backup of your sd card every week or so depending on how much you do with your phone.

Well they are similar in this aspect. Boot into recovery, find backup/restore, choose backup. When the backup is made and you mount your sd card, the I think the backup will be in your nandroid folder.
