Root need help flashing roms

HTC_098

Lurker
In order to install cm12 on my htc one m8 i must have H boot version 3.19.000. In order to do that the "Your CID number must be exactly the same. If it's written "HTC__001" it means you can't flash it, if your CID is "02__001". The whole text must match!" i have checked my CID and it says CWS_001 . i dont know what that means i am currently on Cm11

This is specialist stuff, so best in the M8 All Things Root forum - I'll move it over there.

CID is the Customer ID, i.e. which region/carrier the phone was originally sold to. A quick web search suggests that this might be an ATT-branded phone - is that correct?

If you are trying to update your firmware using an RUU and are S-On that means you'll need to find some ATT-specific firmware instead. If you are S-Off you can work around this. But best is to get advice from other M8 owners, so I'll move the thread now.

Based on the info you have given it looks like you need to do a firmware update to run the latest CM.

If you're S-ON you need to go back to stock and accept an update or if you're S-Off download the firmware, decompile the firmware.zip there should be an android.info file. In there you can write your own CID. Recompile it and flash it on the HBoot screen or through terminal on your computer.
