Hi guys i am having a problem with my lg optimus one p500 i can't update my froyo 2.2 to gingerbread 2.3.3 even it was root by using gingerbreak -v1.20.apk,
the things happen when i try to reboot my cp using the Rom manager application or either i try to manually by pressing the power button, home and volume up or down, it was automatically format my phone instead go to the recovery menu.. Do you think is there something i do wrong with my phone that i can't update it well kindly help me please :(

Thanks :D

use lg update tool to update your phone....or use kdz updater to remove recovery from phone then update

as you said going to recovery formats your phone, it means you didnot install custom recovery, please install custom recovery.
1. Easy method is to root your phone (search on xda)
2. Install rom manager
3. open rom manager
4. click on "flash clockwork mod"
5. Then after success , uninstall rom manager and donot use any other options (as many have complaints that they end up in fast boot mode using other options.)
5. shut down phone
6. Boot into recovery (home+voldown+power)

Never flash custom recovery using ROM manager, there is a chance of you getting stuck at LG screen or fastboot mode, and since you dont have a recovery, you'll be forced to use tools like KDZ which can brick your phone for good. Follow the link in my previous post
