Need help from skilled photographers

I'm usually taking pictures of my critters in low light setting inside the house. My pictures rock when taken outside. But inside I always get weird lighting orbs from the light outside, or the TV, or even the lights inside.

How do I make them better?

I'm rooted but using the stock camera. Should I be using a different app? Can I tweak the camera settings to be better?

* I hope it's ok to post the url of the pics here. If not I can save to my computer and maybe attach them?
 
Looks like moving my metering to Matrix and using the HDR option would improve my pics the best. Now I just have to remember to select the HDR option each time. It doesn't save that when you close out of the camera!
 
It is very common with cameras to have lens flare...more common on lesser cameras with cheap lens. It was a huge deal when some iPhone users whine about it...and thus made headline news that iPhone camera is defective! :D Angling your camera differently...pointing away from light source or try shielding your camera lens with your hand (aka placing your hand over the top of your Note 2 camera) may help.

The next Star Wars movie is going to be shoot on phone cameras! :D

Look up J.J. Abrams and Lens Flare. :p It was quite funny.
 
I also found an app called Camera FV-5 It's supposed to be great but I need to learn what all the settings actually are.... LOL

The HDR setting last night was ok, but didn't completely fix the light issue. I should probably take a camera class somewhere...
