Need Help Installing a Theme

[dcafiero]

sorry if this is somewhat of a repost. but I HAVE read around.. and i cant find any proper answers.

i found this theme on the app market and i was looking to buy it
Miami Dolphins Theme for Android

but i have no idea how to install themes. the only guide i have come across was this Theme Tricks: Steps to Install Themes in HTC Hero | Sprint Cell Phones Blog

and even then i dont know how to "Reboot your HTC Hero in Recovery Mode"

Also... after thats all said and done, how do i get rid of the theme and go back to normal if i dont like it?

if anyone can help me out, or even just post a link to a guide that answers these questions, this android noob would appreciate it

Are you rooted? (It doesn't sound like you are).

You can only theme the phone if you have rooted the phone to my knowledge.

Try reading up on THIS and THIS.

definetly not rooted...

and damn i was afraid of that ;[ is that really the case?

edit: is there any other possible way? i thought i read something about programs you can get for applying custom themes

and does this apply to buying / using live wallpapers as well?

Yup, live wallpaper and theming are available only if you are rooted. I believe most "themes" on the market though are like skins for Open Home or A Home or whatever.
