Help Need Help, Phone is totally bricked!

Hello all, I rooted my thunderbolt about 1 week after it came out and everything was working great. I hadn't even bothered to load any roms on it or overcloak it or really do anything that requires rooting. About 3 weeks after rooting the phone, It randomly froze after sending a text message and so I pulled the battery out and replaced it and the phone would not turn back on. The battery was almost dead when I pulled it so I figured it was just a dead battery. I went home, plugged it in to the charger and let it sit overnight. The next morning I unplugged it and attempted to turn it on but it nothing happened. Long story short I have tried a different battery, I have tried to hard reset ( power and volume down) and nothing will help. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on anything I can do to either A. Get it working normally, B. Get it unrooted or hide the fact that it is rooted so I can get a warranty claim. I work for Verizon Wireless so I am a bit concerned that if I process it as warranty and they find a way to turn it on and know its rooted I could get screwed. Worst case scenerio I have to spend 99 bucks to do an insurance claim, but would like to avoid that if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx all

So I have a few questions:

Did the charge light come on?

When you say you tried a factory wipe, you mean you tried and absolutely no lights came on anywhere, right?

Was the phone hot at the end?

I want to say that you either have a brick (this would be odd, as bricks do not just happen...they come about by critical memory being flashed with a not perfect image) or you genuinely got a bad piece of silicon and some chip in your phone just died.

If this was clearly not due to rooting (i.e. recessed power button), I would say warranty it. But the facts are you knowingly voided your warranty and now something went wrong that may have been caused by that action. It sucks, but I would say be both ethical and safe and put in the insurance claim. I do not want to sound like I am on a high horse (I have warrantied rooted phones before, but for mechanical problems, not software or root-related things), but there is a point where you are cheating the system and not just circumventing it.

Anyway, good luck with your phone. Hope you get up and running soon somehow.

Sounds like it was not charging because of flashing a bad file and is stuck somewhere in that process. Did you try charging the battery in a different phone or putting a known charged battery in it?

If the phone won't power on I wouldn't worry about sending it in. Any attempts made to recover the phone would likely involve wiping and restoring the phone anyway . Weird it would lock up like that during a text. Either way I would call employee accounts andhave them send you another device.
