how much would it cost if i added a third line to get the thunderbolt? right now i have two lines with unlimited data,text,any mobile to mobile minutes,700 plan and it cost my wife and i $176 a month I have the droid x and she has the fascinate. I was thinking about buying a cheap phone and then sell my droid x and use that money to get the thunderbolt,and the phone i buy just have no text etc. Is there a better way to do this lol without having to pay full price we just got with verizon in december so no upgrade anytime soon.
 
After it's all said and done, $10 a month extra is what it would cost you to keep that third line activated. But you would be pro-rated for data charges on your next bill.
 
Yea I did that before. In the end it adds 10 a month. Well 15 after taxes. But I just figured it as in the end I paid full retail for the phone and have another line I can upgrade on.
 
Don't quote me on this because I'm no pro-rating expert, but I think this is right. It would be an extra $40 on your bill monthly if you continued on with the third line using a smartphone, so they take that $40 and divide it by the number of days in the month. So it would be roughly $1.29 a day. Then they go by your billing cycle end date. My new billing cycle ends 4/12, so from 3/17 to 4/12 is 27 billed days, times $1.29 would be $34.83 pro-rated.

Now, I'm not sure if they give you any sort of credit back for not using the data for the full month or not. I really can't remember. And if you cancel data on that line, it would be a one-time charge.
