Help Need Help Please

My captivate got wet about a week ago.

I put it in rice for 24 hrs and it was working but had lines on it left to right. I thought ok well that is what I get for being stupid. Well a couple hours later I was using it and just faded to black.

Now I can turn it on and the at&T will come on and then it starts fading downward line by line. By the time the 3g screen is finishing it is all black.

I can feel it vibrate when i know it is at what would be the normal lock screen. I can push the buttons on the bottom row and the light up.

So is the phone gone or is it just the screen?

it seems like it the phone is responsive because i can turn it on and the buttons light up.

Can you still receive calls on the phone, like does it ring, do you hear sounds for text/email notifications ? Do the buttons vibrate when you touch them or did you turn off the vibrate touch prior to this incident?
