Need Help Plz!!??

I'm new to BM Samsung Galaxy S2, came stock with JB 4.1.2 which is really nice! A couple weeks ago I decided to root using the one-click which worked well. Everything came out smooth. I froze a few apps that I didn't want and also had to do the Phantom Press fix. After all this I had no problems.

Last week I decided to run a custom ROM, got that going and seemed ok. I had to do the phantom key fix again but it wouldn't let me... just seemed to be going crazy no matter what the signal indicated. So I reverted back to a nandroid of Stock rooted.

Since then I can't get a 3G signal and my signal strength is constantly 1 or 2 bars. I'm not exactly sure where the problem is or how to fix it. I can see the 3G download bar light up orange from time to time but it won't connect to ANYTHING! From what I read, it's the modem. As far as I know I never switched mine. It worked fine after initial root but now, not so much. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

** Everything else seems to be working fine. I can make phone calls and send/receive text messages. Just no 3G service. Thanks everyone!!

What ROM did you try to flash? You may need to just flash a one click install of the JB rooted full restore again. it is easy to do and should fix your 3g problem. (do copy pics to your pc or external sd card before doing it.

I flashed Project X 3.2. ROM was great until it started Phantom Key pressing on me. It was relentless too. Was that because I needed a different modem? All I flashed was the JB Format All X2 and then the project X zip. I assumed I was good. I had flashed AGAT GC01 v0.5.0 so thought I would be ok as far as kernel and modem. Was I wrong?

Thx CodeGerm!!

do a full restore of JB (a one click is the easiest and is available rooted). Project x is GB27 based. I don't believe it should matter but try flashing the GB27 modem. It should let you do the phantom key fix if needed. one way to test is to put your phone in airplane mode and see if you have the issue happening. if it goes away then take that opportunity to edit the files for the fix. Make sure the read/write privileges are the same as they were before you edited the file. Also follow the project X instructions for a clean flash including what recovery kernel it says to use to flash the ROM.

Ok. I'm re-downloading the One-click. I must have deleted it or something. Gonna be awhile on a slow wifi connection. I really liked what I seen on the Project X ROM.

Here's my confusion.
In the OP of that rom it says its GB27 based. But to install I need to install EL26 or EL29. But you can't flash modems using EL29??

** Also, Which AGAT recovery should I be using? Currently I'm on 0.5.0

Thanks CodeGerm! U da man!!

You should be starting with a JB ROM (gc01 is fine). then once you have el26 in flash the 2 x format then the modem, then the ROM. Don't flash in any mods until after you have booted the ROM completely the first time.

OK, now I'm more confused... lol. Start with a JB ROM?

So the One-click is a good starting point... Flash EL26, Flash the JB Format, GB27 then Project X?
Sorry if it seems like I'm just asking the same question over and over. I just want to be sure I don't brick my phone.

yes the One click to start off with a TW JB, then the rest in the order you just typed. If you are on a functioning JB TW ROM you prob won't need to do the one click of the rooted stock but otherwise I recommend it to start from a stable point before doing any flashing.

After the el26 and format, then modem if not already on the GB27 modem, then the ROM.

Awesome. Thx man! I had to do the one click to get my 3G working again, which it is now. I'll do some backups and a nandroid then I'll get Project X rom up and running. Thx for the help!!
