Root Need Help quick

so I am trying to root my droid x with 2.2 with the directions from the XDA site. I made it to the step where the phone is to reboot and pull up the c:\xxxx. but my phone is still and the red eye after rebooting and it has been here for 15 mins now. not sure what to do??

I would just .sbf back to 2.1 using stock recovery. Root 2.1. Update to 2.2 using Koush's bootstrap loader and a copy of the update.zip that is floating around. (all files in "The Bomb" thread in the "all things root" section).
