Root need help restoring

hey guys,

so heres the run down........

i bought my esteem from a friend.it was new but someone had tried to root it and it was stuck on Gingersteem boot logo...i figured i can fix.so i got it off him.so i had no luck because there was no back ups or sd card.so i did the lg support update (zvd btw) and im not sure if it was originally zvd or not.well it worked and i got it connected with service.so then a week later i rooted it with the stock ROM.again it worked all good.So then i flashed the Black plague rom and that was all good.Then i flashed the 2.2ghz black plague kernel also got that going...So now my only prob was the phone not recognizing my 32g sd. After alil googlin' i found that was a common prob with issues with the external and internal sd card.So i came across this way to change the ''vold.fstab'' file in system/etc , well i changed the file rebooted and no phone dosent see the sd card at all.No apps detect the sd card or nothing...now im like WTH... tired of messing with it ...need help... !!!

so im stuck now cuz i tried to reflash, and i wiped all data and wiped cache and dalvik...but when try to apply zips from either internal or external sd.. i get installation errors in CWM... WTH... WHAT DO I DO NOW ???
IM STUCK IN CWM...THERES GOT TO BE SOMETHING I CAN DO...

PS. I TRIED TO DO THE UPDATE AGAIN THROUGH LG TOOLS....MESSAGE SAYS A ALREADY HAVE THE LATEST VERSION... NOW WHAT ..???? :(
 
dont do the update hold on theres a file to get you out of there you need anothert sd card if your having problems with it hold up
put your rom on another sd card and reflash if your stil stuck

ok man thanks, ya im standing by... the phones charged up and the only thing i can do is get in CWM... was gonna try loading a different ROM to atleast get into the phone...

uhmm i pulling out my 8gb sd from my other phone... gonna clear it and format it. And will put the Rom on it and try...if it dont work ill try that file you sent me...

im workin on it trust me... i need this phone going again...lol...

hey its working again :)...

so u think that file changing i did ruined the sd card ???
(it shows fine on my pc) but ever since i put in it never read the actual space...

well i guess im stuck with an 8gb till i can find a good 16gb...
just kind of weird...the one working now is a 8gb kingston class 2... and the other is a 32g sandisk class 4 ...

well its working for now...thanks allot for the advice...
i like this phone but my only 2 issues were the storage space issue and black plague ROM doesnt seem as fast as others...

BUT GOOD LOOKIN OUT JEFE ;) ...
 
nah i saved whatever i had on it... wiped and formatted using my pc... loaded 2 different ROMS just in case...

Booted into CWM did the facory reset and wipes, applied the new ROM... and presto it took... and in ''settings sd and storage'' it shows both internal and external like normal...

u think i will have issues if i try upgrading the card later?
 
the sd card thats not working on the phone try formatting on cpu. the put it in yout phone and format it again thru the phone
 
u mean if want to test my old one...
ur saying format on pc and then format it on my phone???

would i also have to add the ROM on the sd to try it again.... or does the ROM stick to the internal?

sorry if i sound like a total noob.... but so many things come up with this phone...


My old phone is a HTC evo running CyanogenMod 7... and never ran across so many things... lol
 
It bootlooped because the 2.2ghz kernel is for zvb, the highest for zvd is 2.1, the plague is 2.0.

no just format the damaged sd card on your pc dont put anything on it and then put it in your phone and see if it lets you format it

well it never really bootlooped... i started with the original black plague that i grabbed from the pgwiki... then it seemed laggy... so i did the speed tweeks i saw, didnt really get a difference, so i flashed the 2.2 kernel... when i first went to cpu and ran it...i accidentally scrolled to much to the right and ya it crashed....then i lowered it, and it was fine...

so u think the kernel that comes with the original black plague is good enough???

i really want to run black plague but it runs kind of laggy :(
