Root Need help rooting on 2.2.3

I have a Motorola Droid 1 and I made the terrible mistake of updating it to 2.2.3. It was on 2.2.2 when I got it. It was rooted until I updated. Is there any sorta easy way to root it? I have a Mac. I tried SuperOneClick in Mono but as soon as it gets to the rageagainstthecage part, it says 'FAILED' and it's really discouraging. I need this thing rooted REALLY bad. If anyone can help, that would be amazing. I do not have access to a windows system without doing it on a friends laptop at school (which is a pain) So thank you very much. I'm not very good at adb and I don't have the Android SDK.

I had a Droid 1 on 2.2.3 as well and soc 1.7 or 1.5 (cant remember which) with rageagainstthecage option and doing it manually were the only ways I found to it. Maybe someone else knows of another way but I couldn't find it I did mine manually using this guide Root any Moto A855 Phone. maybe try Superoneclick on your friends windows laptop it worked on mine as well as well as unrooting it to do it the manual way just for the practice :)

P.s. just did this in past couple days btw still have the Droid and using but now its on 2.2.1 with Liquid Frozen Yogurt 1.95 with smoked theme
 
Just used super one click v1.7 with rageagainstthecage. Worked flawless, just make sure to reboot after complete otherwise it will not take.
 
The problem is the OP has a MAC and has already had problems with super one click.

Which version of super one click did you try? Try 1.7 or so. Or just do it the manual way that btiehes linked, though you will have to use terminal and get the proper adb for Mac. Or wait until you can use a windows box.

Alright, I have SuperOneClick ***1.7***running on my Mac (with Mono) The problem is, once it gets to running Rageagainstthecage, it says it failed. I'll try it on my dad's work laptop later tonight to see if that works. Thanks for the help guys.
