read that thread very carefully make sure you have everything you need and when you do someone will step up to help guide you. ide be happy to help but i dont have the phone. but there are plenty of members on here who do and have. so just be patient and follow the directions to the letter

I had this phone, still do. Just have to really read carefully & thoroughly to fully get your optimus going. Make sure to downgrade from zvj to zvd, it's the only way to get rooted plus you can always flash back to zvj with a patch :) good luck & have fun!

I have the same readings on my Sprint LG Optimus S™, same numbers, letters, all for the various version numbers, and even Build Number, and my neighbor and I have spent quite a while trying to root my phone, with no success, so I can move applications from the phone to the microSD Card to free up internal memory on the phone. The "MoveToSdcard" app has been able to move one or two downloaded app(s), but refuses to move some others, and gives a pop-message that I need root permissions to move this app to the card;

I tried the "z4root", but I could not see where that gave me any root permissions, and it caused other things to freeze up, or slag in operation. Some of what I seen in posts is old, but if something old works, then fine.

As for the link in the above post,
Step-by-step Rooting & Flashing guide for Optimus S.
that won't work for me here, because it requires an EXE (EXEcutable) file to be executed, and I'm using the Linux Kernel for my system (openSUSE 13.2 KDE), which is pretty much, or all of what Android is ... it is at least using UNIX Based like Linux, since it uses the same file types and directory and file names and extensions, and the same structure(s);

I DO have Windows XP on one my drives, but when it loads, it just reboots ... it could be because there have been so many changes in this computer since I registered Windows, don't know what the problem is, other than I just cannot get into it;

And I'm confused as all the mention of ZV*, when I see that my Baseband Version is MVJ, and more confusing is that the SW Version (whatever that represents) is ZVJ;

Any help that could root my phone would be greatly appreciated, immensely. I'm thinking about buying the ZTE Force or ZTE Flash since it's Android Version is more recent (4.0) and has more internal feature and may have better capabilities on moving downloaded to the SD Card.
