Root Need Help, Stock to .588

I was following the instructions from another post and when I got to the part about installing the 3 zip files I couldn't see them. At this point my phone did the annoying self reboot and now I don't have any of the apps installed. Should I re-install D2 bootstrapper and try again?

First it would help to know the steps you took to get where you are now. I know you say you followed the steps on another post but do you know how many posts there are on this?.....lol

I have checked and the 3 part zip for .588 is in my root directory of my SD card but I can't see it in Bootstrapper recovery.

what are you clicking? apply zip?

the files should be at the top of your screen if you actually put them in the root of your SD card.

Chose zip from SD card. I am rebooting to check that they are in the right place now.

I made a folder for downloads and put them in there and can see them now in bootstrapper. Not sure why I couldn't see them in the main directory.

did you start at .340 rooted?

Re download the files and try again. But please be sure you have a full charge on your battery....lol. You don't wanna run into that problem.

That error indicates you may be in stock recovery. When you load up d2 bootstrap are you selecting "bootstrap recovery" then hitting "reboot recovery"?

I thought I did. I can do it again and go back into recovery.


If I screwed this up how would I recover to where I was before I got into this mess?

sbf back to Froyo and start over.

You would just simply SBF via RSDlite back to stock Froyo and begin again.....

And keep track of your battery power like I said before.....you see that puppy dropping below 80%, charge it up before continuing. Also when you are in recovery you do know you and use the up/down buttons to scroll through the menu right? So if you didn't see the files there, chances are they were further down the menu where you couldnt see them till you scroll.

Are you starting from *stock* .340?
