Help Need help syncing PLEASE

Hi all. I just got the Captivate recently and love the phone but am having some issues. I have read through so many forums for days and still having issues. I am trying to sync my calendar and contacts to Outlook. I have tried so many things to accomplish this, but still no luck. I have downloaded several versions of Kies and none seem to work. I usually get nothing that happens or it tries to detect my device forever. I have also downloaded drivers. When reading through the forums, I read that some get it to work and others say that it is not possible for it to work. So who do I listen too? Is there a way that I can get this to work? Or is there another way that I can sync my phone to Outlook? Without using gmail?? Any info will be helpful. Please and thank you!

When I connect my Captivate to the pc. I cannot get access to my sd card. It does not read at all the captivate from windows directory. Any suggestioons?

are you seeing the internal memory? you can try checking to see if the sd card is installed fully into the slot also. when you connect the phone does the mtp service come up on the screen? if not make sure you are running the stock launcher.
