Help Need help, Tethering problems with SGS2

I am not able to use internet from my laptop, by tethering the SGS2, i cannot tether either via Wi fi or via data cable.

However, my laptop gets connected to the wi fi of my sgs2, and shows internet connected, but i cannot access any site, or cannot ping to any site from cmd.
I am not using any proxy settings in my broswer or in SGS2.

Please help, Any suggestions deeply appreciated. I am getting mad
