Help Need help to connect Samsung i9000 to wifi

Connect the mobile to Kies and save your Wireless Code to a Memo in the mobile
Go to Memo in the mobile and copy the text to memory
Press the Wi-fi button on the top left (you need to tap once on the top corner of the phone and drag down display it)
Paste the code when required

1. Open routerlogin.net on your browser and make a note of your password/key code.
2. Click settings on your handset. Proceed into wifi settings.. Make sure wifi is turned on. It should now search and presumably find your connection with a lock symbol near the name. Click on the new found connection and it will ask you for your password/key .
3. Enter that and now it should connect. This is a one time procedure. Hence forth your handset will remember the password.

Thanks for the suggestions tried both the above, unfortunately did not solve the problem, any other way to resolve this issue.

Could you elaborate more as to exactly when the problem is occuring ? Also have you connected any device through wifi earlier ? laptop for example ..

I have hp laptop connected to the wifi and its working fine, the problem is the mobile handset does not connect, what am I doing wrong for it to fail.
Is your router set to allow any wireless MAC address to connect?
If its only allowing MAC address which are entered into the router wireless setup then you will have to enter your phones MAC address into the router (this is assuming you have entered your wireless password correctly).
On my Linksys router its in the wireless setup options under 'Wireless MAC filter', look for something similar on yours.

Are you getting any sort of error message? Have you tried restarting your phone/router?
Are you using hidden SSID?

Hi. I have a Linksys WRH54G router. My Galaxy S phone gets connected to this router but I am unable to access the net through this wi-fi connection. However, my nokia phone works fine on the same wi-fi. Kindly help
I'm having issues as well with wifi. I've owned my phone for a couple of months now (beginning of august). My issue is I can go weeks with my phone connecting fine to wifi (home, work, anywhere), then all of a sudden, I turn on wifi, instead of it scanning for available connections, it flashes "unable to scan networks" twice at the bottom of the screen, then it shuts the wifi off again. This is the second time I've encountered it. First time, I contacted both Samsung and Bell, both of whom said "that is not our dept's issue" and directed me to each other. Then I was advised to send it in for repair (up to a few weeks)..I had owned the phone for just over a month! (of course, they exchange in store up till 30 days). I ended up finding a very smart mobile phone sales guy here in town who fixed it. Not sure what he did, and intend on visiting him again, but wonder if anyone else has encountered this, and if so, what are they doing for a solution? Thanks
I bought a Galaxy S I9000 last week and spent three days trying to get it connected to my home wifi (A linksys WRT54G). I spent a lot of time looking on the web for a solution but couldn't find anything so thought I'd share what worked for me.
The problem: Wifi would work fine in work (using proxy settings). At home, it would spend a long time trying to get an IP address but then nothing. After a day, it seemed to be working after all (despite no input from me) and said it was connected, but internet access wasn't working at all, it didn't even try to load pages - just straight to the 'unavailable' message.
The solution: I have two laptops connected to my home wifi. I had a look at the IP addresses they were being assigned by the router. I then looked at the IP address being assigned to my phone - it was completely out of the working range for some reason. I pulled config info off my laptop then set a static IP address. I also had to enter gateway, netmask and DNS info for the connection to work. The phone connected instantly and I've had no problems since unless I try to get an automatic IP. If I do, it says that it's connected but the IP address is nonsense and nothing works.

try the most simple thing then move onto the more technical matters.
