Need Help - Trace Keyboard Function

I have an alphanumeric pass code on my phone and in the past have used the built-in keyboard on the note 2 and note 3 to "Swype" the pass code in.

The trace function on the default keyboard works great, but does not work on the lock screen. Anyone figure out how to enable this?

Don't think it's possible with the HTC keyboard, might be a keyboard limitation or could be a Sense limitation, have you tried with another keyboard?

Yes, I have tried several and purchased Swype. Does exactly what I need. They have incorporated Dragon as a speech engine. Seems to work well. This is what I used on my Note 3, but it was included on the phone.
