Help Need help with browsers crashing

acidic15

Lurker
So just recently for some reason the stock internet browser and I tried Dolphin HD as well they just crash and go back to the main screen upon trying to go to a website. I'll open it up and as soon as I enter for Ex. Google.com it will load and just crash. Also the Facebook App when I was using it was running fine then it automatically logged me out for some reason.

Now I'm thinking it could be some virus maybe? But Lookout nor Advast picked up anything. My phone isn't rooted and its current version is 2.3.5?

Only culprit app I can think of that might of done this is Music Paradise...also I haven't tried a Hard reset hopefully avoiding that.

Hmmm, avast didn't find anything.

Have you tried to go under menu / settings / updates and update your prl and data profile?

Try that first, then maybe we'll try a cache wipe in your stock recovery.

So I tried updating prl and data that didn't help, then I did the cache wipe and they didn't work either...=/

Grrr, I hoped that would do it.

Ok, pull the battery. Put it back in, then hold the volume down button, then press and hold the power button simultaneously until a white screen appears. Use the volume down button to highlight recovery, press the power button. The phone will reboot, then a black screen with a triangle and exclamation point. Press and hold both the volume down and up buttons, then press and hold the power button. You'll get another menu, volume button and highlight wipe cache partition, press power. Then highlight reboot.

See if that does the trick.

Could he also go into manage apps and clear cache and data for his browsers?

That is a great idea Mike, I assume eveeryone does that by default, so I never recommend it and go straight for the jugular!! :o

Lets try Mike's suggestion and go to menu / settings / applications find your browser and select it. Then select clear cache. Do this with Dolphin browser if you still have it also. See if that has an effect.

Man Mike, where is my mind!! :p Thanks
