Hi, I made a backup with CWM 5.0.2.7, installed CM7.1 and now I have CWM 5.0.2.6 and can't restore my backup.
If I update will I be able to restore ? How can I update Clockworkmod recovery ?

Put this zip on your sd card and flash it in CWM. You should be able to flash your backup. If you've renamed your backup, it cannot have any spaces or / in it.

SPH-M820-CWM-5027-UPDT-FIXED2A.zip

Example: wetbikers.backup.MIUI.4-23-12 This way will work

wetbikers backup MIUI 4/23/12 Will not work

Hi, thanks so much for your response.
I just remembered that I read somewhere that 5.0.2.7 works with external_sd and older with internal_sd.

So I copied the nandroidbackup from external_sd to internal_sd, and now when it shows up in my restore menu.
Should I go ahead and press restore ? should I wipe first ? Is there any problem that the backup was made with Clockworkmod 5.0.2.7 and I restore it with Clockworkmod 5.0.2.6 ?

I would go ahead and restore it then reboot back in to CWM and wipe the Dalvik cache. Let it boot up and make sure everything is cool then go back and install the CWM update. That's the way I would do it but I really don't think it matters much. The main thing is to wipe the dalvik.

As for how it got that way, I have no idea.

Ok, just a few question, if you are kind enough..
You mean I restore it, after its done, go wipe Dalvik cache, and then press "Reboot System Now" to boot up the restore ? In this order ?
Or I can start up the ROM immediately after restore ?
Also there's no problem in going from CyanogenMod7.1 to my stock CF-rooted kernel ?

I would install the backup in CWM, after it gets through installing hit the power button and it will backup to the main menu, then go to ADVANCED, select clear dalvik. After it's done, hit power again and back the screen up then reboot. It will probably boot back in to CWM just select reboot again. If you've got anymore questions ask them quick cause I gotta get 2 bed. lol:D

Right, I'm restoring now..
After this restore what CWM will I have what version ? the one in the restore? does Clockworkmod gets backup up by nandroid?

Hey everything seems in order.!!.system boots up ok,, I restarted, everything seems in order.
I thanks you so much wetbiker7 .. If I could I could give you 1000 thanks !

Pretty sure you'll have the same version you have now. Don't think it touches the actual CWM. Almost positive.

Okay so I just updated my CWM from 5/6 to 5.7... All I had to do is flash the CWM.zip and re-bot back to CWM. It even changed the header in my recovery from 5.0.2.6 to 5.0.2.7...i never saw a difference in flash-ability... .6 was good i may want it back...:D

It just fixes some problems. Both the old version and the update are in Hroarks cwm thread.

Ok I'm done ..... 2 bed I say!! :p

I think if you back up before you flash the new cwm it cant save your boot image. I am pretty sure the big change for .7 was it can flash boot.img like Odin.... Someone please tell me I am wrong/right...??

Edit: thank you wet TTYL all... Good night and.. yupp.. stuff...
