Root Need help with cyanogenmod please!!! Very desperate!!

So, basically, I am trying to load cyanogenmod 6 onto my rooted evo. I used enrevoked last night to root it, and I am following the method found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KcOHRUxzqA

once in recovery mode, I cannot install the cyanogenmod zip. It just says Installation Aborted shortly after it runs the .zip file. I put it on the sd card from my mac desktop... the GADDON (google apps addon) worked fine, and it was added to my phone in the same manner.

So, I am stuck...currently restoring with a nandroid backup. Can someone help me please?

Its simple. You need the engineering hboot .76 in order to flash CM6. However you can flash CM6.1 without the engineering hboot.

Ok, where do I find this, or how do I do I flash cm6 without it?

Just go over to xda and download cm6.1 and flash that

Yea, If your trying to flash an older rom(albeit stable[6.1 is RC1]), you could use a bit more reading.

Only if you have Clockworld mod recovery rather than Amon Ra.

Of course, my recommendation is to go ahead and add the Hboot. You'll need it in the future, just go ahead and put it on your phone.

CM6.0 requires the engineering hboot. CM6.1 and up does not need the engineering hboot, just flash as normal.
