Help need help with downloading music

This is my first android phone so please be gentle. Sorry for the dump question I would like to transfer music to my Samsung Captivate. I ripped a cd but when I plug in the USB cables into the PC it seems to only charge my phone. It does not recognize the hardware. help

Once you have the drivers you should be able to choose between Keis, Mass Storage and Media.

When I got my captivate it was set to 'debug' mode, once turned that off whenever I plug it in it asks me what to do: keis firmware update, usb mode, and something else media player?

If you're wanting to add music to your phone, you should select mass storage and just transfer the files that you want over.
