Need help with fast email syncing frequency

Hello everyone.

I just recently got myself a Galaxy S II X yesterday and I couldn't be happier with this phone. I'm proud to be a part of the Android family now.

Anyway, I have a concern with about the email functions. Are there any apps or settings I can change so that I'll be able to get my e-mails as soon as they come in? And also have my mail marked as read on both my phone and email after viewing them once? (I'm not sure what it's called, but I don't like having to go through the repetitive process of going in between my phone and email to keep my inbox clean.) Kinda like gmail. I'm using hotmail btw.
Anyway, I was able to do all this with my HTC Diamond and it was really helpful and kept me organized. I'm not a fan of the check every 15 minutes setting and I hate having to mark my emails as read in my inbox after I've seen it on my phone.

Please help. Thanks in advance!

Looks like there's s Hotmail app on the Market. Apps dedicated to a service (Gmail, Y Mail) usually alert you to new email immediately via push notifications and sync the status of your inbox automatically, although I would've assumed the Email app does the same, but apparently not (I don't use it)

Push notifications have been available for any apps to take advantage of for a long time now, but for some reason very few apps take advantage of it, that is my biggest complaint with android devs!!!

I personally set up my hotmail to forward to my gmail over a year ago, just so I could have things on my phone. I log into hotmail probably about 4 times a year now.

*I also freeze the "email" app so I never have to see it, the only email app on my phone is gmail. Still, the email address I use most is hotmail, other than person friends who have my gmail address

Thats a good point, that the op should migrate to the superior gmail, without losing the old address

Ahhh but of course, why the heck didn't I think of that? get a dedicated email app LOL.

Anyway, I just tried it out and it works like a charm. No problems setting it up either. So glad I chose the Android over the iPhone.
