Help Need help with functions

Lurker
Guys, I need some help finding some functions in the Note II. The first one will probably be simple; I can't find where to disable Mobile View for websites. I want my browser to just show full websites.

Second may be more involved, if even possible at all. I love to use the S Pen. I find it much more accurate than my finger tip for texting and browsing. However, I don't like the feature that auto-scrolls the pages up and down when you hold the pen too close to the top or bottom of the screen. When I'm viewing the screen, I only want the page to move if I manually move it myself, and I find that I'll accidentally scroll because I'm holding the S Pen too close to the top or bottom of the screen, and it's becoming annoying. Is there any way to turn this scrolling function off?

I just upgraded to the Note 2 from the old HTC Evo 4G. I must say, I really like this new phone.

Thanks guys.

Open web browser. Tap menu, put check mark in Desktop View Box.

Move spen further away from screen. :p j/k I haven't really played with spen that much.

I just knew it would be something rediculously simple. I looked at the menu for hours! I never would have found it though. The HTC Evo setting was different, didn't have "desktop view," just "disable mobile view" or something like that. Wasn't looking for "desktop," but makes perfect sense now.

Thanks for your help, worked like a charm.

No info out there on disabling scrolling, huh? The reason why it's such a big deal is that when I go to press buttons on the screen at websites with the keyboard open, there is such a small space there and the scroll areas are big, so when the s pen gets close to the screen it scrolls a little before it makes contact, and makes me press links I don't want to go to. Very annoying.

Thanks

Check under Settings, S Pen and see if you have Air View Checked. If so click on the text for Air View and it will take you to the next screen:
Options defaulted as checked:
Pointer
Information Preview
Icon Labels (by pen lib)
List Scrolling

I'm thinking that List Scrolling may the culprit causing it to scroll when you hover too close to the edge of the screen.

Exactly!!!! I keep mine enabled - just learned to not hold then pen so close the the edge.

It's not just when I hold my pen too close, but when the keyboard is on screen, you know how there is limited space left on the screen above the keyboard for whatever web page you were looking at because the keyboard takes up half or more of the screen? When I'm done typing and want to click a link or button, if that button happens to be near the edge of the screen, as I attempt press the link or button, the phone reads the proximity of the pen before the touch of the pen, and the page scrolls before I hit what I was aiming at, and I end up clicking something totally different, and having to backpedal to get what I originally wanted. It's driving me insane. Also, when I drag the pen across the screen quickly to get a fast scroll going, as the pen comes off the screen, the proximity scroll function completely stops the "inertial" scrolling, so that I have to swipe many, many more times than necessary to get where I want to go when scrolling down. I'm glad that so many of you guys have learned to deal with it, but it just drives me crazy, and I'm so annoyed with it at this point that I don't want to try to learn it, I just want it gone.

//rant off

Phew!

I'll check the setting mentioned above and post back.

Thanks for the help guys.

That completely solved the problem. I am now a much, much happier Android user. I had faith in Android that the option would be there, just needed help finding it.

Please have pride in yourselves for selflessly helping a noob on the internet. People like you are what keeps humanity thriving. Keep it up.

It's hard for me to remember that items that can be "checked" to turn on and off can also be selected as well to open new menus. I don't remember the menu system on my old Evo being so dynamic, but I could be wrong.

Thanks again.
