Need help with Gmail

On my blackberry I was able to choose when I deleted my email messages whether it deleted on just my phone or also on my gmail server (computer). Is there a setting whereby I can just delete the email on my nexus and then later go out on my computer and have those email messages left intact? Thanks for your help.

Maybe I should have asked this question first.....is there a toggle somewhere on the phone in an app that allows you a choice to either delete on (1) both the phone and the server or (2) just the phone by itself?

I don't think you can do this with the stock Gmail app. You need to use a different email app that will let you set up an IMAP account with Gmail. IMAP downloads a copy of the email to your phone, while keeping a copy on the server. You should be able to delete them from the phone without them being removed from the server.

I would have swore that up until a few days ago, I was deleting them on my phone and they were not being deleted on my server. That's why I was looking for a toggle in some of the menus/sub-menus. I guess it wouldn't be the first time in my life I was wrong.....

Try looking at the gmail account via the web interface, there are settings in the Forwarding/POP tab about dealing with read mail accessed via POP.

Yep, but the Gmail app doesn't access via POP.

You have to be using a non-Gmail email application in order to do this.
