Root Need help with Root and Good For Enterprise

I have read all the posts about people being unable to stay rooted and run the GFE app at the same time because it detects root and disables itself. I dont really want to stay rooted all the time but I would like to be able to either delete or stop alot of the apps and processes I dont need from constantly running in the background and sucking up battery life. Is there a way to root, permanently disable those things and then remove root completely so I can still run GFE freely without it disabling itself?

Try this app out https://play.google.com/store/apps/...m9yZy5wcm9qZWN0dm9vZG9vLm90YXJvb3RrZWVwZXIiXQ..

What it does is hide root to run apps that won't run on a rooted phone. It's only temporary until you "Un-hide" root.

It worked for google play movies! lol I couldn't rent a movie cuz my phone was rooted. I made a back up of root and then hid root, then re-booted and viola.

It's pretty simple and self explanatory.

After you hide root, reboot the phone. :)

Great tip!!!

When you root your phone, you get an app called Superuser with it. If you update it from the Play Store - see https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noshufou.android.su - then you have the ability built in to temporarily unroot as well, it should work, without having to use another app.

YMMV - and I'd recommend the other app first over this method, but for those who want to limit the number of apps on their phone, this is a good alternative.

I've seen that in the updated superuser app! :D

I've never really tried it and didn't want to give advice based on something I haven't tried. :)

Next time I need to hide root, if ever, I will try the superuser's built in root hider. :D

There's got to be a way to hide the superuser files from specific apps...

I haven't developed for Android before... Can Android use ptrace to inject and watch code in other apps? If so, one could write something to intercept and block any calls from a target app that look for Superuser.apk, attempts to call su, etc...

Can any Android devs chime in?

ellandrydroid, were you able to install Good on a previously rooted phone using one of these two methods? I tried to use the OTA Rootkeeper on my HTC Incredible to hide root prior to installing Good. Good still detected root however and shut down. I couldn't find a way to make it work. I never tried the Superuser method. I have yet to find a personthat has successfully installed Good on a rooted Android...
