Root Need help with root and tethering to Ipad

Newbie
Plz dont flame me for asking, i searched the forum but most of the posts were several months ago. Ive had my evo since launch and i love it. Ive always looked past all of the posts about rooting because im happy with it the way it is. The other day i bought and Ipad and to tell you the truth i love it, even tho ive always been an Apple hater:) Can someone direct me in the right direction for rooting the evo? Im needing something that works with the newest firmware update. Plz any help would be appreciated, links etc...

There's nothing wrong with liking the ipad, lol. Everything you need to root and get wireless tether working can be found here:

Since you're asking about the latest update, I'm going to guess you installed the latest OTA. That's unfortunate because not only is rooting more difficult (which is clearly stated in the above linked thread), but there are a few issues that come along with having root and the 2.10 hboot. That being said, if you read the above thread, you should find a link to this:

[ROOT][GUIDE] HBoot 2.02/2.10 SOFF - Root! The Final Frontier Edition - Upd. 12.21.10 - xda-developers

This is currently the only method to root with the new 2.10 hboot (ok, there might be a few others at this point, but nothing simple). Your best bet is to wait a little bit longer until the unrevoked team releases an update. You will then have a one click root option, which is much safer.

yah thats what in thinking, there are a lot of old root methods floating around. I just need somthing to get me started that works with the latest firmware and supports hot spot tethering. thanks anyone who can help.

Thank you so much for this! This is why im asking for help! The easier the better for me!
