Root NEED HELP with Rooting Galaxy Prevail

Greetings. I need help rooting my Samsung Galaxy Prevail. There is just so many different guides and instructions it's confusing. I have a basic understanding, but if someone could provide a simple step by step it would be appreciated.

Stingrays suggestion is good however, I would go with "Odin" as it will do a few things for yousuch as

1. install CWM which will let you install apps/roms, create and restore backups and format/reformat your micro sd card.
2. Root your phone.

As you can see I'm an "Odin" fan.

i used the one click root to root my phone it was easy to use, once rooted i installed cwm(clockworkmod) and flashed ctmod2.3 to my phone was very easy if you follow the instructions step by step
