need help with rooting...PLEASE!! Sprint HTC Hero

The # sign came up. Should I just redo the auto root? I did it with the old version for the "with google" phone, should I try doing it with out checking the box?

it wont hurt nothing to rerun the auto rooter if that dont you can download a terminal emulator from the market and just flash the recovery img right there in the phone (make sure the recovery img is in the root of your sd card if you go this way)

I must not be rooted, because when I do this it just hangs at the hTc boot screen until I pull the battery.

The recovery img is on my sd card. So, how do I flash it with an emulator?

Finally got it to root, backed it up and booting now.

EDIT: Installed fresh and the flash fix update, can't wait to see the speed gains. Any tips on what to remove to gain speed and more importantly battery life?

Is it bad for your phone to restart multiple times in a short period? Since i've rooted i've been adding a boot screen, deleting apps, adding a lock screen, etc....

Using Kitchen, when you install a boot screen, or delete/add apps, add lock screen, etc, the phone will reboot after you do each of those. Nothing to worry about.
