Help **need help with rsd and flash**

so i figured out how to get my x with a dead battery prepped for a flash by cutting a usb cord. now using rsd and trying to flash the system file of 2.3.340 it keeps giving me an error like this:

failed flashing process. error processing flash file. (0x700f) phone connected.

what am i doing wrong. i also tried the 2.3.320 file..
both are in c: directory, the drivers are installed, but i'm lost!

i need my phone asap! please help!
 
never got the sbf started because of the battery being too low. (my stupid fault, i thought it would charge while doing it...) i'm in bootloader now, it says 30.04 battery ok ok to program transer mode: usb... in rsd the phone says connected but in the properties box its empty even if i press show device. keep getting this same error. someone said something about renaming it and after the next error, go to the error log and find out the number of digits missing in the name, but there is no error log in the rsd file... man i'm soo lost.
 
nevermind on the device not showing. clicked on the line on the lower section and it all showed up.. still not working though...
 
You need RSD 4.8 or 4.9.

You need Motorola drivers 4.7.1

... and you need the proper SBF file.

What's the goal? (Get updated to 340?)

I checked your posts and don't see any recent posts that would say what the issue is, except noticed you had a rom installed (Apex .1 maybe).
 
i have 4.8, and the proper drivers and 2 different sbf files. the 2.3.340 system only file and the 2.3.320 full file. i had apex .1, installed fission, didin't like, did a nandroid backup and it got stuck in boot, started trying to do recovery and i think that is when the battery went dead and is the reason for the hardwire of the usb cord right now. when i plug in the phone to the usb it installs the drivers but just for grins i downloaded the files from teamdefuse yesterday. still nothing right now though... still confused about not having and rsd error log file...
 
At this point you want the full sbf, which is 320. 340 is system-only, which probably isn't enough at this point.

Did you try to get into recovery and doing a factory reset?
 
yeah i was on .340... i tried a factory reset a few times. no luck. i haven't tried since ive had it hardwired. thats funny. the file you gave me is half the size of the .320 file i have now. wonder if its not a good file...
 
i've also read something about having to move a "patch" file or something. i don't know what the heck thats about. any knowledge on that?

My 320 is Happy_Holidays_From_TBHb.zip and is about 253 megs.

Sorry, don't know about that. I've been lucky and think I've only SBF'd once, maybe twice.
 
no it was from just before i did the fission. it was only an hour old... do you have a quick link to the happy holidays file? for some reason when i looked at the properties of the one i have it says it like 456mb so i'm guessing something isn't right...
 
yeah i've read that. i've done this before to my first x. had no problems. this is ridiculous. still isn't working... "error processing flash file"... i'm getting seriously aggravated.
