i had the same issue a while back. I dunno why either but when I took it back to a Verizon store they replaced my SD with a new one. I was thinking that somehow the SD card went bad.
There have been threads about bad SD cards. Pull your card and see if it's a SanDisk Class 2 or a Generic card. If it's generic it needs to be at least a class 4 card. The number should be printed right on the card. If it's generic then go to VZW and and ask for a replacement hopefully a Sandisk. If it's a Sandisk then it just went bad and also needs to be replaced. Best outcome get them to provide a Sandisk or other name brand.
