Need help with some updates

Can someone help I live in Romania and many updates for different kind of apps such as google maps aren't available to download in my country and I can't seem to find many free apps updates to download on the internet.
Is there another way to download them from the market or to bypass this restriction ?

Quite a lot of apps you can get off the internet, dump 'em onto your SD card, then install via the package installer. (You'll need a file manager of some sort)
Have you tried Google Maps for mobile for the latest maps app?

If you download the apps with your phone browser then you can start the .apk files directly on your SD card (folder downloads) with "Downloads" in the browser menu
