Root Need Help With Updating SuperSU Binary 4.3

Brandon L

Lurker
Hello,

I recently updated my LG G3 to 4.3, and when I went to SuperSU, It gave me a message saying "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU can not install it." I realize to fix this I would just flash the new binaries, but I have no custom recovery, and without root I cannot download one (to my knowledge at least) :/ .

If anyone could give me a solution, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hello and welcome Brandon!
So you were rooted and you updated via an OTA update?
If so, that probably broke your root.
You will probably have to re-root . What carrier are you on?

I am on Sprint. I thought about re-rooting, but when I tried using Stump Root which is what I used originally, it said I was already rooted.

Do any of your root apps work?
I would assume you now have the stock recovery? Did you have a custom recovery before?
Yep, just plain stock recovery. I am not that advanced of an Android user so I never thought about getting a custom recovery. I think I might have found an alternate method so unless you know of anything else I will try that and see if it works.

Short of uninstalling/reinstalling the SuperSU from the Playstore, no I'm sorry I don't have any other ideas.
Whatcha thinking about trying? :)

I heard something about if you rename the binary, copy it over to xbin with the proper permissions, rename the old binary to something else and then rename the new binary to su and reboot it might work. I'm trying it right now.

Think you need to use flashtool, go back to zv4, re-root & then just install a zv6 rooted rom like BarRin, never, never, ever take ota when rooted
