Hey everyone, I am new to Android and rooting and root programs and the things that they are capable of. That stated, I recently rooted my Optimus M and got everything working nicely, then I started getting cocky with Titanium and deleted some bloatware (including my LG home app) due to the fact that I had installed a custom home app and figured I wouldnt need it anymore, needless to say I would end up needing it... I played around with my phone a bit more and decided I wanted to to a factory reset. But alas once my phone had reset it's self it did not have a home app. My only guess would be that Titanium deleted it from the backup drive as well. so now my phone has a toolbar at the top, but no home! just a black screen. I can still receive calls, messages and emails, and have tried emailing myself home apps, but I cannot install these because you must get into settings to enable foreign apps. does anybody know of something I can do to fix this? Please help! thanks ahead of time.

You can use ADW or LauncherPro from the market as alternative homes. If you want the LG home, you will need to wait for someone more knowledgeable to respond. I'm sure you can get it, or we can find a way to extract it and get it to you. I've never tried to restore that to my phone, so I can't be of much more help -- sorry.

Thanks for the quick response!

That would totally work, and I would love it because I dont particularly care for the LG home. But I have no way to access the market, nor any of my other apps, or settings. they were all accessed through the home. :(

Do you got a pc? if so use that to download from android market, then connect your phone thru usb, turn off phone, then press home, vol down, and power to get into recovery then toggle usb, and move app to phone. then reboot phone. need further help just pm and ill try to help.

Edit; also in the future remember to nand backup for any oops moments

I tried what you said to do, although my phone seems to think that home+power+vol down is the factory reset button.

If you download an app from android market on your pc then it usually sends a notification to your phone to install. That's assuming your market app is present on your phone, but you just can't access it b/c of your LG home situation.

If your phone is doing a factory reset with the home+power+vol down combo then you did not install a custom recovery to your phone. Once you get the home/launcher thing figured out it is highly recommended to put a custom recovery (either GNM or CWM recoveries) on your phone. With a custom recovery, you can make a backup of your phone so that if/when you screw up your phone (like deleting a necessary app), you can just restore it to before it was screwed up.

Sorry about the button combo, i took for granted that thats the next step i root related things is to put custom recovery on to phone. Thats the only thing i can think, but someone will have an idea for you.
