Root Need Lock Button Hack

While taking apart my Galaxy I broke the copper ribbon to the lock button and now I cannot unlock the phone! Is there a hack or other way to unlock this phone? It currently has Galaxo 1.6.3.3

I can probably boot into recovery and flash any zip but currently I cannot get to the home screen as it is locked so Lock 2.0 or other Market app is not a solution. Any thoughts?

I think the current GAOSP release uses the End Call button as an unlock button. You could look into that.
 
On Donut Galaxo (1.6.3.3), if you use pattern unlock you can unlock it with both LOCK key and END CALL key. I just realised that today. :)
 
Well, than he should use a tool like android commander to install an app via usb.
Also adb would work too.
 
My galaxy isn't about at the minute for me to try, but give this a go >

The command unlocks my 1.5 Pulse, but not my 2.2 N1. Not sure what luck you will have with the Galaxy, maybe it is a different keyevent code for its unlock button.

You could install said apps from adb
 
Stock JC6 here, the [end call] button wakes up the phone in the same way that the lock button does.
 
Could you not use a pair of metal tweezers or something of the sort to complete the circuit, unlock the phone and then have at it ???

Tried that. The problem is it is not typical wire more like a ribbon that looks like plasticized copper if that makes sense. The plastic shielding is not removable and I cannot get any contact. The ribbon shares with the camera button but the break is after, not sure if the camera button is functional either.

I have an N1 now so the priority to fix this is less. I will be taking another look this weekend.
