Help Need SERIOUS help with unlocking (potential rooting question)

Okay so here's my problem, I ordered this phone because I thought you could GET to the SD card, I just heard that it HAS one. There is a service provider here in Kuwait I can use my phone with instead of going through Sprint who would charge me an ass load just to talk to my friends and family back home. Is there any way I can get inside of my phone to that SD card without completely damaging the phone? Or is there another way I can unlock the phone without even touching the sim card?

So if I 'root' my phone, does that mean it 'unlocks' it from Sprint. Meaning I can use other service providers with it?

As a US CDMA phone, there's no simple process to transfer it to another carrier.

The CDMA system does use a sim card.

The embedded sim exists only to access the LTE radio unique to Sprint.

If service providers in Kuwait use the GSM radio standard, your best bet is the HTC One X or the Samsung Galaxy S 3.

The HTC EVO 4G LTE is the Sprint variant of the One X.

Rooting an Android phone is the exact same thing as getting Admin access on your PC. It allows you to change software, but it doesn't affect carrier locking.

An sd card is a plug-in module to extend memory.

Sorry, not the answers you need.

Do you have wifi access?

You could install Skype and talk to them Skype to Skype or use a similar service, for free.

You can get to the SD card but you can't get to the embedded LTE SIM which is only for Data anyway. I am curious why you would order a Sprint phone in Kuwait? It looks like the main services in Kuwait use GSM so you are really better off sending the LTEvo back and buying an unlocked HTC OneX and then getting a local SIM card.
