Root need some advice please

im looking for some advice on wether to root or not root ive had my samsung galazy tab 2 10.1 for a few months now and i dont know if to root or not can someone please tell me the good points and the bad points and what ill be able to do after rooted i know i can overclock my tablet thats about all i know
