I'm about to murder somebody.

My Nook decides it wants to boot only into CWR this morning.

I've tried everything I can find, and I just wiped every possible partition with a CWR boot disk and the MFer IS STILL TRYING TO BOOT INTO CWR!

I am seriously going outside to break something right now.

Try reflashing your rom from recovery. Might as well format system prior to that too.

I wiped boot, system, data, the whole nine, and installed 7.1 again from an SD. It just gets stuck on Loading because it's trying to boot CWR and it isn't there anymore.

I'm about to try an older nightly which I know works on a blank Nook.

edit: I think I know where I messed up, it just took the blood pressure dropping a few points to think a bit more clearly... we'll see in a few minutes

Wiped boot? That's a no-no. Might have to flash the stock 1.2 rom to get that back.

no, it's okay. the latest nightlies and CM7.1 rewrite it every time with their custom bootloader. I wouldn't get as far as I am if /boot was empty.

Regardless, I'm going stock as we speak out of desperation.

partial success. First boot of stock ROM detected sequence of failed boots, and asked to factory reset. It's starting to boot the stock ROM now, looks like it may be okay.

Yes, thankfully, the factory reset did the trick.

Reinstalled 7.1, restored my /data backup, and all is well.

*wipes sweat from forehead*
