Need some help with voicemail...

So I normally live in Maryland, but i'm at school in canada for college fyi. I have the notification that tells me I have a voice mail but when i click to dial it, it dosen't go to my voicemail menu, it says my voice mail.

Thus not allowing me to listen to it or clear it, and the icon there is annoying.
Wtf do i do?

if you hit * when it goes to your voicemail, you should be able to enter in your password and get your voicemails that way.
