Root Need some help!!

xhanx

Newbie
TIA to all those that have put in their time and effort to this site. It is a great site!!

Kind of a noob to this and want to make sure I am doing this right.

I have been rooted and installed an Apex ROM and been happy with it.
Wanted to start fresh as sd card is getting full and wish to try the GB.

I have been rooted and just flashed the maderstock340.zip. to bring my X to stock. Everything installed fine and rebooted. My screen is back to stock but all my apps are still there from the previous set up.

What is my next step. I thought that doing the maderstock340 will bring it back to out of the box state. Here is what I wanted to do.

1. Format SD card to start fresh
2. Reinstall just selected apps
3. Upgrade to GB. ( I can follow the steps from the different threads for this.)

There is just so much info on here that, going through them all sometimes confuses me more. :)

A data/ cache wipe should put you back to bone stock. I'm not sure of the formatting the sd card as I have never done that before. I'm sure someone with more knowledge on this will come along.

Format the SD card:

1. Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card
2. Then select Format SD Card

Factory reset:

Settings > Privacy settings > Factory Data Reset

That will put your phone back at brand new.

I know it's stupid but it's the first thing I thought of when I saw your username:

I appreciate you saying xhanx.

You're welcome.

sigh... I told you it was stupid.

Factory reset:

Settings > Privacy settings > Factory Data Reset

That will put your phone back at brand new.

Sorry, that's what I meant to say. That's what I get for doing 3 things at once. that'll teach me to try and multi task.....

I d/l installed the 3 GB files and rebooting.
However, I have been stuck in the bootloader screen for 25+ mins now.

How long does it usually take?

If you have been on the bootscreen for more than 10 minutes you are boot looping. NOW you do the data/cache wipe in recovery and you should be good.

Pull the battery and put it back in.you should then be able to get back into recovery. Should you not be able to, pull the battery out again but this time leave it out and plug your wall charger in. That will get you into recovery also.
