Root Need something new!!!

I serious need a new ROM!!! something different! Im tired of cynogenmod, oxygen, sense, MIUI, and that stuff! Isn't there something else???:D

And.. I know we are "not supposed" to use ROM manager - But I like it... But my Rom manage dosnt work? I can only download ROMS, not install them - I have to install them by myself.. actually the only thing i can use rom manage to is to download ROMS... What can i do?
Thanks
- Emil

Well Rom manager only works now if you're s-off.

Nope, you listed all the Rom types. Maybe get a non-android phone?

What you've listed above are the 4 most differnt roms out there. Most others would be variations of them.

That said, there's a new CM rom, there are plenty of new Sense ported roms and a lot of people on here speak well of Dan's dGB rom. Not sure how different it is to Oxygen/Redux though?

hi guys.
I'm keen for a new one too but nothing out there grabbing me :-(
just back on redux2 but now wowing me this time. I do prefer the lighter feel
compared to miui etc

good luck. keep us updated :-)

cheers
dan

Rom manager removed fake flash and replaced with true flash but obv s-off needed for that.

Can't guarantee dodgy backups are a,thing of the past as it flashes cwm 5.x

hmmm no thanks although 5 is probably stable considering its one koush built for bravo

I don't know how much input he has. He seems to work on it a bit in the cm git hub repository, forked from his own but I think I saw commits by others too.

If not impressed with MIUI then i see problems lol
I just installed MIUI and wow its awsome!
Its like an i-phone skin but does everything 10x better......

It shits all over iOS
I call all the i phone users SHEEP... BAAA BAAAA lol
lol

Oh? I know Coreymike came here after using Rom manager and he definately had S-off as he rooted through the revolutionary.io method. Has Rom Manager been updated to accomodate S-off now. I just know I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole as I know it can be a pain in the arse. And who needs a pain in the arse?

theres still no reason for it.
imo its for the lazy people that want to just grab and flash.
rom manager doesnt give you warnings about individual rom setups and how to prepare for a certain rom, its patches. help if its a dead version thats been uploaded.

most people have to go on xda anyway to post issues they encounter. if everyone did it the normal way then most people would have an understanding about whats going on and how to repair it and how things work.
once more rom manager detracts away from the community, it lowers interaction and surely community interaction and involvement is what creates these wonderful roms and mods.

I just dont get its purpose in a desire environment

I also agree. I think doing it via recovery is asking for less trouble as you're cutting out the middle man which has been created by a completely separate dev team. Good intentions aside, I can't help think that the Rom manager team must have known due to the rate roms change and phones develop, it was an uphill battle. In the early days I dare say it could have been a very user friendly and powerful tool.
