Help Need to stop phone from trying to get Froyo OTA

My phone has constantly failed the Froyo OTA. I'm not real worried - it's doing okay on 2.1.

But it did lock up yesterday (screen turned off immediately, like it had a 1/2 second timeout). The only fix was a factory reset. Took me two hours to reset my apps!

I also figured why not try Froyo OTA again. Menu, System Update. It failed again. Oh, well. And then later my phone reached out to try and get it again on its own!

How do I stop this automatic OTA download?

I would like to know the same thing for my wifes phone. I'm keeping her on 2.1 cause of the battery life issue on 2.2 but she's been reporting that it has tried to "upgrade" her several times but she's caught it just in time.
