Need to WIFI Tether 3g/4g within 2 weeks

Ever since that update, I can't do the unrevoked now. And I am taking a trip in 2 weeks that I need to have this feature and really don't want to call Sprint to activate their hotspot. I also don't want to do a full root which btw scares me a little as it seems way to complicated.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what I can do here?

i had the same issues like u. was using unrevoked. after update it don't work. afraid to root and i find it complicated. usb tethering with pdanet works fine.
 
USB tethering won't work for me as I don't only have a laptop I need to get on the net. I have a ipad while on the road which I rather use than my big laptop. So if anyone has any other ideas it would be great!

You can add it via Cell Phones, Mobile Phones & Wireless Calling Plans from Sprint then just remove it when you are done. They should pro rate it.
 
Beer, I don't see that option on the website to add it anywhere? Where do you go to get to that option?

No, I do believe they'll charge you for a full months worth.

Another reason to use a netbook with flippable touchscreen over an iPad.

I think hes right.

You'll probably get charged the whole month on extras like that (hotspot).
 
:(.....wish you guys had better news. Well, I would root if, if I had really good directions in one spot, step by step in some way. I have jailbreaked my iphone, but that was pretty simple.
 
They do not charge you a full month. I turned the hotspot app on via my accrual page on the Sprint site and 6 days later turned it off as I was not going to use it enough to justify the cost. Bill had a pro rated charge for the 6 days. Showed the full among charged, then a 23 dollar and change credit.
 
Steve it will, but it gives you a Full unlock on the phone without having to do ADB pushes.

At the end of the unlock, you can install and run programs requiring root access, and you can Flash new roms (does NAND unlock as well)
 
I heard sprint is giving it out for free right now....I'm using it for free, one day i turned it on and it worked on 4g I immediately called a two he said it wouldn't work unless I activated it ao i asked someone here and they said it was free till the end of July

What kind of ethics/morality do you subscribe to?
I'm really curious. Are you guys advocating breaking a written contract religious? Atheist? I wonder about your socio-economic demographics.

Please point us to where rooting breaks a written contract. Rooting breaks warranty, but please, enlighten us on how rooting our phones is morally abrasive.

Read my post again. Where did I say it was "morally abrasive"?

Also, I was not referring to rooting. This thread is about tethering without paying the hotspot fee, which violates Sprint's Terms of Service and therefore represents breaking your contract.

I am surprised at the number of people advocating breaking a written contract that they willingly entered into over $30. I wondered if those people share any other common factors in regards to things like religion, economic status, etc.
