Root need usb tether driver for cm7 win7_x64

i was getting a bit tired of some of the quirks on pdanet, and decided to try the usb tether feature built in to the cm7 mod, but my copy of win7_x64 cant locate a driver for this. what driver should i be looking for?

im just looking for a standard android driver probably, its just that my windows op sys wont automatically find it. any ideas?

ok, so its been more than a week and still no replies

is this just an entirely uncommon issue or why doesnt anybody know? maybe i shoudl change the subject line?

I enable usb tether on my phone, plug in the usb tether cable, win7_x64 looks for a driver, then CANT find one, so i cant use the USB tether. I have to use the wireless exclusively.

Im thinking i need to be heading to the android sdk, but not sure.

I haven't used usb tether in a long time. I use wireless tethering with no problems. If I remember correctly when I used X64 I had to download the drivers from htc.
 
I hadnt thought of getting them from HTC, i thought i was in uncharted waters, ok, ill look on their site.

i dont have HTC SYNC installed, i dont normally use proprietary software. do you think i can extract the driver from that package? i think i might give that a go.
 
HTC solved teh driver issue. MUCh thanks guys! now that i have the driver installed, i see that it will not share the internet, like the wireless will. I checked into all the settings, even played around with teh network settings, and i cant get internet access on the PC using the USB tether (unless i use something like PDA Net).

So now i can rightly say i like the wireless tether better.

If anybody has an idea why USB tether wont share the internet it would be nice to know why.
