Root Need wifi hotspot that EXACTLY emulates an access point.....

I don't see another post like this one, so here goes.... I'm trying to get a wireless tether to enable wifi to my kindle. So far I've tried every app that has been mentioned as working without problems. But the kindle always!!!! says it can't connect to an ad-hoc or enterprise??? network. Does anyone know of a wireless tether that exactly emulates an access point? I actually went out and spent real MONEY on a wireless router, but I'm running Linux Mint 14 on my box, and haven't had time to figger that one out...

I have a rooted VM Elite that is running Tagged. (All props to Hash!!)

Would appreciate any help or random ideas. thanx.............

The elite can only run an ad-hoc tether. Try looking up wpa_supplicant for whatever android version your kindle is running. There are hacked wpa_supplicants that support ad-hoc. That's how I got my chinese tablet running ICS to connect to my Elite.

There's also an app that allows you to tether via bluetooth if you want to go that way.
