Root NegaLite BluROM

A little overwhelmed with all the stuff under download page on xda. I should get the negalite-blurom_r27.zip, right?

Do i have to flash anything else with it?

What is the incremental update? Should I flash it?

That's for people who are on r25 to get to r27 without having to download the r27 and flash it right?

I had some trouble going from 21 to 27 via the OTA updater. I assumed since I was being prompted to upgrade via OTA, it would work, but it never booted up for me after the switch to 27.

I then noticed that there's a zip for 27, so I installed that version instead. I am currently running 27 and it's cool. I have one roadblock right now and it involves MAC addresses for Bluetooth. That reminds me, time to check in on that thread I made to see if there's any updates. :)

Installed this rom after getting S-off, almost chose to wipe everything including the SD during Aroma installation. I realized it before installing so I went back and unchecked all of those wipe options.

Installed the rom clean with zero add-ons and the only things I chose to keep were "all sounds" "all wallpapers" and facelock.

Rom is running nice and it's smooth/fast. I like it :)

There's already an update to this rom r28 with some fixes and it's not an incremental. Guess I'm gonna download and flash that now.

What the?

This ROM went from like 21 to 28 in about 4 days or so. I think it went from 25 to 27 in the same day.

I wonder if each new feature, breaks something else, which prompts a fast update.

Are you saying I can either D/L and start over with 28, or do the SVN method of updating? No new .zip is provided as an incrimental?

Yea, there seems to be a lot of new interest in that ROM lately and the developer is very responsive. You have the alternatives correct, which is why I've got SVN setup for that and a couple of other ROM's. If you wait a little longer he may an incremental to get from r27 to r28, but I can't guaranty that.

I ran the OTA Updater app, it seems to be downloading the whole r28 rom. And it says it's not an incremental update.

It may still be an incrimental update, it's just being distributed as zip files as a whole ROM right now. I dunno if RamJet has taken the plunge to 28 yet...he could confirm it as he updates this ROM through a process called SVN (don't ask...RamJet can fill you in if you're interested).

It seems odd though that if it was incrimental, the OTA would take care of the few patches that are needed. Since that's not happening, perhaps there's been a major overhaul somewhere that an incrimental couldn't patch up

I myself have decided to let this ROM settle down a bit. I feel that 30 is going to get released tomorrow...so I'll just see how this all look at the end of the week.

I may have to nix my NAND of 27 if I can't get to 28 (or 30 by then) using it. That means another 2-3 hours of homescreen customization, and bluetooth pairing...and this, that, the other. It's all part of the game though, so you sorta gotta put up with it.

Can you flash 28 on top of 27 without wiping to keep your stuff intact, or could that lead to issues?

i think it should go with a dirty flash but im always do clean install unless its an incremental update

Someone using this rom can you please check under "About" and see if there's the "Network" settings menu where you could check for network strength.

I don't know if it was there before. I can't remember but on the latest r28, that option is not there.

Im not seein it, but im on 28 also

Okay, thanks. Dev must have omitted it. Was just wondering.

I'm curious, how's the battery life for you?

I'm running at default max overclock with multisampling antialiasing enabled and the battery is draining fast. Goes down 1% every 2-3 minutes.... while im using the phone. It's pretty good when idle.

well i flashed it at work while at around 70 something percent and have only ran it a few hours but its around 44 percent now. Ill give u a better answer tomorrow after i run it from a regular charge

LeeDroid Tweaks lets you see the signal strength in dB with that hidden carrier screen.

Okay, I'm gonna wait to see if it settles in and use less power. but at the rate i'm going, I would be down to like 20% after 2 hours. Not good battery life.

Flash at >70%, ~5 hrs later im at 29 with minimal usage. I just changed my kernel settings so ill update usage after a full charge

And it says they updated it today. So where is the most updated ROM zip that I can download?

By "they" I mean the xda link someone posted above to it. So is that version 3.5 of w/e? I'd love to have the most updated one from anthrax website but their website is invite only. That's stupid as hell but all well. I forgot what it was like to be invited into middle school after school programs.. xD Cute. ANYWAY, is there really any way at all I can get the latest one?

r32 is the latest version, its not an incremental its a full wipe install. im sure its somewhere

WOW...lots of changes...though I just realized by looking at the changelog that every single change is another R-level. So instead of a release that does 5 things, those 5 things on this ROM would be 5 r-levels.

It looks like I'll have to learn how to SVN if I am ever going to run this ROM. I can't wipe and install every day to keep up with this developer. But like I said, I'll let some things settle down before going back. Do the fixes to the OTA mean that it will update itself properly?
