Help Netflix in HD?

Just picked up the Galaxy Nexus today and I think it's a beautiful device. Kinda confusing at first since it is so different than Gingerbread, but pretty epic all the same. My problem is that I thought I'd be able to view Netflix in HD on this phone, but when I watch a movie I know is available in HD via instant streaming on my XBOX 360, it doesn't look HD to me. 4G isn't available in my area, but my phone is connected to my wireless network so my connection speed is easily fast enough to stream HD content. Is HD content via Netflix kinda blurry or is there something I need to do?

I wont have mine to try this with till late tomorrow. I netflix and slingbox. I suspect both apps will have to be updated to function well in ICS.

Hope not, but fraid so.

I have tried movies and shows I know are in HD and they don't look great. They do fill the screen though. I played a few YouTube videos with the same results.

New device so I hope it will get fixed down the road.

my netflix started out grainy but after a couple minutes was nice and crisp....that is the same thing I notice when I stream to my TV.

Same here. But I feel that YouTube HQ videos looks better than the Netflix HD when it gets good. :shrugs:

Watching Netflix, the phone gets REALLY REALLY hot, unplugged or not. Then, whatever 4G signal I had deteriorates to 3G and the feed becomes extremely laggy.

I dont know if you guys watch movie trailers from Fandango or Flixster, but they both look bad and very low rez on the Nex. My other phones never looked that bad. Yet I play these same trailers on my IPad and it looks like very good HD. Weird.

I agree but you have to remember the Gnex runs high resolution. It is difficult to run low Res videos in quality. Its similar to watching VHS tapes. They didn't look so bad on a tube TV but play one on a LCD 720p TV and its almost unwatchable.

The weird thing is that the Rezound looks much clearer with the same trailers from those same two apps. It's almost as if the Rezound is tapping into a higher rez version of the trailers from those two apps and the Nexus isn't. I searched for a setting to see if you could change the quality (like going to "HQ"), but I couldn't find a setting like that.

But I tried the MovieFone app and the trailers from that app are in HD (with a change in a setting within the app). The trailers now look just spectacular! They now look far better than the trailers from Fandango or Flikster on the Rezound. :)
