Netflix on Froyo!

Contractual obligations with Blockbuster? What Blockbuster?

Last time I checked they went belly-up. Dead. Closed. Or if they aren't dead yet, they soon will be.

They were assumed by Dish Network, not sure how that left their contracts since they were backrupt.
 
It was bought by Dish? That's news to me. I thought that they were going to be dissected and the B&M stores sold off. Last I remember, the stores were having fire sales with everything that wasn't nailed down being sold for pennies on the dollar, hell... even the things that were nailed down were being sold, like shelves.

I have to really question the wisdom of Dish buying Blockbuster. Really, what is Dish going to do with Blockbuster? I just don't understand the reasoning behind the purchase.
 
Yes dish network bought blockbuster out. Not sure how its news to you when it was all over news lol. I guessing they will use blockbuster for on demand movies.

Dish is closing many of the stores, but said they will keep some open, not sure why. My guess is they will keep the profitable stores open and use it as a way to push the Dish as well.
 
I was wondering if anyone got it to work on the Charge. Ther app is not listed in the market place. I tried searching online and cannot find one complatable with the Charge.

I have been searching and every thread I find says nothing until you have Gingerbread OS. Which I am hoping Samsung and VZ will have for us in the next few months.
 
My dad has a Charge and I tried his tethered to his labtop with XP and netflix worked. I have a Charge and tried it tethered to my labtop with Vista and it did not work.
 
I want this on my Charge, too. I really hope they fix this problem soon. Crackle isn't compatible either with the Charge.

I wouldn't upgrade to gingerbread. They have embedded a lot more snooping devices. Big brother VZW will be watching your every move.

I ran into issues today in fact with Netflix while tethered via PDANet. No error message per se, but it would just take me to a system requirements screen.

Only after checking Flash on the Adobe site did I realize that the "hide tether usage" function of PDANet was making it appear I was on a Linux PC. Turned off the feature temporarily and lo and behold, video!

Don't know if this is the same issue you are seeing, but hopefully it will help! :) Here's hoping GB is quick to appear so I can get back a sorely missed feature from my iPhone...

I think the bottom line at this time is that Netflix will not work on the Samsung Charge under Froyo, rooted or not, modified or not, unless you install (the leaked) Gingerbread.

Also VZW has disabled free WiFi tethering for most open source WiFi Tether applications (see FCC lawsuit). Rooting won't help there either for much longer.
 
rooted with the gingerbread rom below in my signature.. installed the lastest Netflix leak I could find (since it still would not show in the market after the rom was applied). Works perfectly!

Same thing, I have the gbe 1.5 and my netflix is working perfectly too! thanks!
 
I have the 1.5 GBE rom and tonight I went and found the newest version of netflix and downloaded n installed and it works perfectly, watching The New Guy right now just to test it, no buffering, and I'm on 3G.
 
According to Android Police, Netflix has added our device to the supported list!

version 1.3 is supposed to work on our device, but currently the version that you can download from the market is 1.2.2, so I guess that's why it isn't working yet.

I've been reading that the version we need for the charge isn't quite in the Market yet. We need version 1.3, but its still only showing version 1.2.2
