Netflix?

Can you watch Netflix movies on the Inc2? I am currently using BB Tour and finally due for upgrade. I am close to getting Dinc2 but having a hard time committing. Netflix would probably seal the deal. Great to entertain the kids when out and about. I really want to switch to Android but it's hard to know where to start. Especially knowing summer phones coming out. 4g is in my area but not wanting T-bolt because of battery issues. Advice? Suggestions?

When you go to market.android.com via the link in that article to Netflix, it will install to the Incredible 1, but not the Incredible 2.

so if your watching movies on netflix on an Dinc1 would the battery last long enough to finish a movie? lol

The Panda has tweeted that the Incredible 2 will indeed be getting the Netflix goodness.

Sorry, but any device with Blockbuster bloat will probably not get Netflix enabled, unless HTC and VZW want to pay Blockbuster back and then Netflix for enabling the devices. Netflix IDs by device.

Another hope would be if the Blockbuster deal has a termination point.

Unless a hacked version for rooted devices is released by someone, not looking good ATM for ANY device with Blockbuster bloat.

I doubt the deal with Blockbuster can block the installation of a third party app from the market. I guess it could keep many of the phones from coming pre-installed with it, but I doubt it will have much to do with this. Plus, you're not buying/renting individual movies with Netflix. So they're completely different types of services.

Barring a hacked version for rooted devices, Netflix is device specific and pushed in part by the OEM for approval.

Maybe Blockbuster's current status will make them a non factor, so there is a chance.

Yeah, and that's because they want to make sure that the proper DRM capabilities are in the phone. Being device specific has nothing to do with Blockbuster, and I doubt it will come into the equation because they offer completely different services.

This might have been already stated, but Netflix is more concerned with the DRM licenses regarding processors rather than the Blockbuster bloatware. Since the Dinc 2 has a Snapdragon, we should be good to go on the DRM issue...
