Help Network doesn't start up with reboot

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Anyone else have this problem?
When I do a battery pull or reboot my HTC Desire HD, for some reason, the network stays off. It does not start on its own when the phone restarts. Not really a big deal, but it is annoying when I forget to start it up again. It seemed to start doing this after I did the update a few months ago. I have looked in the settings to see if there is an option but I can't seem to find anything. Any help would be appreciated.
I hope my phone isn't starting to screw up.
I have talked with other people that have this same phone and am told that their network fires up automatically.
Thanks in advance for any help.

How are you turning it on? Via the toggle in the taskbar or via Settings -> Wireless & Networks?

From memory of using the stock ROM, just using the toggle alone won't cut it, it needs to be permanently enabled in Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks.

I checked the setting using the path that you showed. If I don't turn the network on with the taskbar toggle, I can't turn it on from inside the settings. It just greys out. When I use the toggle on the taskbar it turns on with no problem.
